Hospital OR Cleanroom Certification — ISO Class 5 Surgical Suite

Each OR certification covers five domains. One: airflow pattern visualization — we use a fog generator to confirm the laminar flow ceiling is delivering unidirectional downward airflow without turbulence or recirculation zones over the surgical table. Two: airborne particle count per ISO 14644-1 — maximum 3,520 particles per cubic meter at ≥0.5μm at rest, and 352 particles at ≥5.0μm. Three: HEPA filter integrity by DOP/PAO aerosol challenge — zero leaks permitted. Four: pressure cascade — the OR must maintain +20 Pa relative to the clean corridor, which is +10 Pa to the semi-clean zone, which is +5 Pa to the public corridor. The gradient prevents contaminated air from flowing into the sterile field. Five: temperature 20-24°C and humidity 40-60% RH, stable within ±1°C and ±5% during a simulated 4-hour procedure.

The laminar flow design is doing its job — the clean air sweeps the contaminants down and out through the low-level return grilles within two minutes.

Gymnasium Acoustic Testing — 5,000-Seat Multi-Purpose Venue
Professor Chen, this gymnasium will be used for basketball games, concerts, and graduation ceremonies. The acoustic environment needs to work for both amplified speech during ceremonies and the high-energy atmosphere of a basketball game. What are the key acoustic parameters we're testing?

Too high — over 2.5 seconds — and speech becomes unintelligible, the PA system sounds muddy. Too low — under 1.2 seconds — and the room feels "dead," the crowd energy doesn't build for sports events. Second: STI — Speech Transmission Index at the farthest seat from the stage. Target above 0.50 for acceptable PA clarity. Third: background noise from the HVAC system — must be below NR-35 when the air handling units are running at full speed. Fourth: absence of flutter echoes or focused sound reflections — these create hot spots where the sound is annoyingly loud or dead spots where you can't hear.

About 60 square meters of quadratic residue diffusers should eliminate the flutter echo. Jennifer, can you incorporate that into the architectural finish without clashing with the design intent?
