We had light rain overnight — 3mm — I measured it. Item 2 — shoring: trench box installed, extending 300mm above grade, no gaps between box and trench wall. Item 3 — spoil pile: located 1.2m from the trench edge, exceeding the 0.6m minimum. Item 4 — access ladder: one aluminum ladder at each end — 7m spacing, within the 7.5m maximum. Ladders extend 1m above landing. Item 5 — barricades: orange barrier mesh on three sides, the fourth side is the access end with a removable gate. Item 6 — atmospheric test: O₂ 20.9%, LEL 0%, CO 0 ppm, H₂S 0 ppm — no engine-driven equipment in the trench, all pumps are electric.

Let me verify physically. (checks trench box) Box is seated correctly — bottom pins engaged. (checks spoil pile) 1.25m setback — confirmed. (enters trench) Ladder is secure. Bottom of trench is dry — dewatering pump is working. Walls are vertical, no undercutting. I'm satisfied. One observation: the dewatering hose discharges 0.5m from the trench edge. That water needs to be directed at least 2m away or it'll saturate the soil and increase collapse risk. Re-route the discharge hose before work starts.

场景二:燃气管道交越——人工探坑 Gas Pipeline Crossing — Hand-Dig Potholing
We've located the 300mm high-pressure gas main running east-west at approximately 1.8m depth, crossing our cable trench route. The utility maps show it, and we've verified it with ground-penetrating radar. The permit requires hand-dig potholing to expose the pipe before any mechanical excavation within 3m. We need to expose the pipe at both sides of our trench line.

This is a live high-pressure gas main — a strike here is a potential fatality and a community evacuation event. I'm approving the hand-dig permit with additional controls. First: the gas company's representative must be on site during all excavation within 3m of the pipe — not just notified, present. Second: the hand-dig crew uses only non-sparking tools — fiberglass shovels, brass picks. No steel tools within 1m of the pipe. Third: a calibrated gas detector is positioned at the excavation point and monitored continuously. If methane registers above 10% LEL, everyone evacuates to the assembly point 100m upwind. Fourth: no mechanical compaction or heavy equipment within 5m of the exposed pipe. Fifth: once the pipe is exposed, it must be supported — a sling with longitudinal timber cradle — before any trench work underneath. Supervisor, acknowledge these five additional controls.
